Yay for a new species for you!

You might also find the 'Dragonflies and Damselflies of Victoria and Tasmania' book very useful. I bought it semi-recently and it's been a massive help for identifying.

yes they seem to like small flowers, the trick is to spot such small, yet stunning, moths. Keep a look out for a similar looking one with white markings. If you have any wetland areas, other rarer species may be found there at dawn or so - or later in flowers.
