I've just messaged Matthew again to see if he has any availability to help out with the unidentified orthopterans

Thanks for the effort you put it Roger! I asked Matthew Connors if he could help out a while ago but he said he was too busy unfortunately

And I'm not even a taxonomist!

I had a blitz of the Orthoptera of the regional NMs this week!

Although not very speciose the 3 super families cause problems because of

1) a taxonomic mess ie the Trigonidiums and Tetrigids

2) difficult keys that often require dissection of genitalia ie Praxibulus & Austroicetes

3) no names ie many Melanoplines

4) morphological variation within species, including different wing lengths and colour patterns ie Phaulacridium, and many others.

5) photos that don't show critical features ie the presence and shape of the prosternal process in Acridoids.

6) Pictures of nymphs

You must be flat out doing all these sightings Roger. I appreciate it, I know how long this can take.
Sorry I cant be of more help. Some species are easy, others I have real trouble distinguishing between similar species.
